Windows 10: Laptop Boots Slow After Windows Update

Hello, I have had this problem before where after a Windows update my laptop (HP Pavilion dm4-2070us-Win 10 Pro-Version 10.0.19042) takes several minutes to boot up. Last time, it would take about 7 minutes to boot, this time it is not that long (4 minutes). I had to create a new profile last time to take care of this. I just wanted to put this out there to see if anything can be done before I have to do that. I noticed that after Windows updates on July 7th my boot performance suffered. If anyone has had this happen to them, and remedied it, please let me know how you handled your situation. Also, let me know what further details I can provide. Thank you

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.

Boot performance may slow can be due to corruptions. To assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

• Have you made any recent changes before this issue occur?
• Have you tried booting up your laptop in Safe Mode and check if the issue still persist?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

laptop doesnt boot automatically

This is what happened.

1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.
