Windows 10: Laptop Can't detect External Mic anymore

Hi, so i have an Asus TUF a17 Gaming laptop and it was working well. 4 days ago it stopped detecting External Mic and keeps using my Internal MicBuilt-In Mic. We fixed it 'easily' by doing a system restore, it was fine for a day then the thing happened again. Of Course I tried doing system restore again and it Said it cant replace a file in a certain path and said it didnt do anything to my laptop.
To Make this Quick, im gonna list stuff that i tried and failed

-Reinstalling Driver

-Installing the Audio Driver in my laptop's product support

-Making sure it wasnt just disabled in the sound control panel

-Yes, im using a Splitter, as i said it was working fine before that day

-Updating audio Drivers

-Tested all my headphones in another device to see if the headphones is the problem

-I don't have Realtek HD Audio Manager but when i installed it, Microphone wasnt even detected so it did nothing

-troubleshooter did nothing


BTW, i did nothing software related, i was legit just playing on it and recording and editing and then shut it down, when i open it, it's gone.
please help me bcos My brother thinks its my fault and we just bought a new mic and it would make it so we wasted a lot of money for smth we cant use

Headset mic not detecting on my laptop

Ok so i just bought a hyperx cloud stinger recently and for some reason its not detecting my mic? I've tried going to sound manager and changing my mic, but it only detects my laptop mic for some reason. Im on windows 10.

 

Laptop won't detect built-in mic on headsets/earbuds

I'm running Windows 10 home on a Lenovo Ideapad laptop, and it doesn't detect the mic on any of my headsets/earbuds. I can hear playback fine on my headsets/earbuds, but it can't speak through them, since it insists on using the laptop's internal mic. This results in my typing/mouse clicks all being captured on audio.

• In sound properties recording tab, I just see "microphone (Realtek high def audio)" and "stereo mix (Realtek high def audio)"
  
• In sound properties playback tab, I just see "speakers (Realtek high def audio)", yet I hear audio fine on my headsets/earbuds?
  
• In device manager, it doesn't detect a headset either, displays the same list as the recording tab

So do all 3 of my headsets/earbuds have some kind of "plug and play but stays invisible to the OS" feature? One of them is the default Apple earbuds, I'm 100% sure there's a mic on there and these are brand new, so they aren't broken. Are these not supposed to appear as a "headset" device with the headset icon in sound properties?

Hi,

You may mute Mic: right-click on taskbar speaker/Sounds/Recording tab-->Mic properties/Levels-->mute.

Your laptop should have two mini-jacks, usually in front. One for mic (line-input) and the other for earphones (line-output) or external speakers.
You have to use a splitter cable which splits your 1 mini-jack headset cable into 2 mini-jack cables.
