  1. Laptop CPU stuck at 0.40 GHz

    Hi!

I have a truly frustrating issue with my laptop - HP Envy x360 13”.

No matter whether the laptop is plugged in or not, set to performance or battery saver mode, the CPU sticks to 0.40GHz. If I wake it up from sleeping, it’ll perform normally with a high CPU speed for literally 30 seconds then go back to snails pace.

It feels like I’ve tried every possible solution - regedit stuff, fiddling with power options, laptop and bios is fully updated. I’m getting pretty desperate - i’ve only had this laptop for 2 months.

if anyone could offer anything i might be missing i’d be grateful, thanks!

    :)

  2. Cpu going .40-.50 ghz at 20 percent cpu!

Are you able to get this to happen reliably? How long does the CPU speed stay low?

In HWINFO Sensor Status, start a log when the CPU is running normally.

Then play your game until you see the CPU speed drop and stop the log.

Also, save reports from when the CPU speed is normal and from when the CPU speed is low. Attach all 4 files to this thread and we can take a look to see what exactly is happening.
