Laptop display calibration randomly unloads and reloads

Lenovo Z50-70 notebook PC with Intel I7 CPU, Intel 4400 graphics, Windows 10 Home 64-bit, Update 1803

About 3 weeks ago, the monitor calibration that gets loaded at startup began unloading and then reloading (seems random).
The monitor profile is generated by my Spyder5Pro device by DataColor. I contacted DataColor and they said there are some known Microsoft issues. They said their software generates the profile, but then it belongs to Windows.

As far as I know, nothing has changed on my system (except the periodic Windows updates). Since this problem started recently, it seems obvious that something has changed. Is it feasible to uninstall recent updates one at a time until the offending update is identified?

    Any thoughts?

    :)

    Display Color Calibration

We appreciate the detailed information. You can try uninstalling the driver in Device Manager and reboot the device. After the restart the system will automatically install the driver, then you can try to

    calibrate the display
    again.

If you don't want to uninstall the driver, we suggest that you try the below steps:

    • Go to Color Management using Search or Cortana.
    • Click on Advanced tab.
    • Select Change system defaults.
    • On the new window, click on the “Advanced” tab on the upper side of the window.
    • Now you will need to check the box next to “Use Windows default calibration”.
    • Left click or tap on the “Close” button.
    • Left click on the “Devices” tab you have on the upper side of the window.
    • Select the “Set as default profile”.
    • Reboot the device and see if your calibrate screen feature is okay now.

Let us know how it goes.

  3. display calibration error

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

I would suggest you to try these Methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to try the steps under the section “Calibrate your display” to perform color calibration in Windows 10. Check if it helps.

"Get the best display on your monitor"

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/get-best-display-monitor

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps. If Windows 10 drivers are not available in the computer manufacturer website,
you may install the latest display drivers in compatibility mode.

    To install the display driver
in compatibility mode, I would suggest you to follow these steps.

    a. Download the latest display driver for Windows 10 from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

    b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

    c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

    d. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and
select Windows 8 from the drop down list.

    e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you.
