Windows 10: Laptop does not turn on the screen after sleep mode

Two days ago I install a new SDD because the laptop only had an HDD of 1TB, and I decided to buy an chinese SSD of 120 GB. Then I install windows 10 as always, and when I try to start the computer from sleep mode the screen dosen't answer, but the lights of the keyboard turn on.

msi vr630 laptop screen seems to be stuck in sleep mode.

Alright here goes.

When I turn my laptop on the "moon" symbol on the lower right hand side is highlighted and after a few seconds the screen will "turn off".
When I close the screen for a while and the power button starts flickering I can press it to bring the laptop out of hibernation and it will work for about 8 seconds before turning off again.

It doesn't appear to be a loose cord problem because there is no flickering and I managed to disable sleep and hibernation mode from both the battery and plugged in modes (with a lot of patience using the method mentioned above) but it hasn't resolved anything.


Any help for a new forum member?

 

Airplane Mode Grayed Out after Laptop went into Sleep Mode

Running a Dell Laptop with Windows10. Airplane mode was off and wi-fi connected and working. The laptop screen was closed putting the laptop into sleep mode. When I opened up, entered my password, the laptop came back up and the airplane mode was on. I
cannot turn airplane mode off. There is no physical switch to turn the Wi-Fi on/off. I have already tried Fn and PrintScreen to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Hi disgruntledWC,

There could be other settings on your computer that triggers your computer to go on sleep even though the sleep settings is set to never. To ensure that the sleep and display settings are properly set, I suggest that you look into the Advanced Power Settings.
Follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel and click Power Options.
• On your preferred plan, click Change plan settings.
• Click advanced power settings.
• Expand Sleep option, and make sure to set the following:

Sleep after : Never

Hibernate after : Never

5. Click Apply, then OK.

Please check also the screen saver option.

• Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
• Click Screen saver settings.
• Set your Screen saver to None.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, please observe if your computer still goes to sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity.
