Windows 10: Laptop freezing + bsod critical process died

Hi there,

not sure if this is the right place but I'm having some big issues with my laptop since the last 4 days.


The situation

I'm getting seemingly random freezes, they start off by me being able to still move the cursor but not being able to do anything else, then I get a BSOD saying critical process died and my machine restarts.

A little extra detail, this BSOD used to be as fast as a flash couldn't even read the stopcode initially but has slowly become more and more slow.


Things I have tried

• Reset my machine kept files but reset programs and settings to factory settings
• Ran a Malwarebytes scan, nothing really
• Ran an sfc scannow - no issues
• Ran a DISM - nothing there either
• Scanned both my disks - no issues
• Defragmented my HDD
• Updated my firmware through device manager
• Updated my graphics driver Nvidia GTX 1060

Notable detail

After the reset my audio driver has stopped working

Event viewer is telling me there is a hardware issue, but i cannot make sense out of the log don't know that much about computers.

Event viewer is also giving a lot more errors, I'll see if i can link the minidump as well if my machine doesn't crash before that.

Critical process died BSoD loop

My alienware 17 R3 laptop apparently forced restart to update windows 10 earlier in the day and after the update finished it literally won't start up and is now stuck in Critical process died BSoD loop without me being able to enter safe mode.

Any attempt to entering safe mode results in another Critical process died blue screen and I've tried EVERYTHING that the net lists as a solution.

Tried going back to previous version of windows and it list an error, tried restoring from a previous point and it doesn't show up at all. Hell I tried a complete reset of the laptop and it gave me an error and said it cannot complete the process for god
knows what reason.

This happened once on my older alienware 17 r3 and I had to get a replacement entirely due to the vendors not being able to decipher the root cause of the problem but one thing is for damn sure, everytime a windows 10 update happens my laptop potentially
gets killed off...

Seriously, any suggestions? This is pretty frigging infuriating.
