  1. Laptop not working on home or work networks

When I got up yesterday morning and tried to check the weather, I found my internet not working correctly. I was connected to my home network. When I hovered my pointer over the wifi symbol on the taskbar, it informed me that I was connected to my home network and had internet access. Yet every webpage I tried to access (on multiple browsers) came back with the same basic message, "Cannot reach webpage."

I assumed the isp was having problems and proceeded to work as per usual.

When I got to work, however, I found that I had the same exact problem. Everyone else's computers were working fine, so now I was thinking there was something wrong with my computer and I would not be able to connect at all.

On a whim, I created a mobile hotspot on my phone and connected to that. Now everything worked fine, yet would not as soon as I switched back to the office network. When I got home it was the same. My wife's computer works fine on the home network, but mine would not. It would still work on my mobile hotspot, however.

I have done multiple searches to try to resolve the problem and ran through the windows help list of connection issue fixes. Nothing has helped yet.

I cannot afford the data rates to keep running off my mobile hotspot.

    So, to sum up:

-computer connects to home and work networks and shows connected with internet access, yet cannot access anything
-other computers work just fine on home and work networks.
-computer works perfectly when connected to mobile hotspot, so that rules out complete failure of the network adapter

My laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad 310-15ABR
Operating system is Windows 10, 64-bit, Version 1703

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If more information is required, I will do my best to find it.

    Thanks

    :)

I ran WLAN report and my network is being "disconnected by the driver". A "No Networks available" issue

So my Wi-fi work when I try to connect to my mobile hotspot on my laptop but it does not pick up on my home network. My home network works and is picked up by other devices but not by my laptop.

Welcome to the forum. Open a CMD prompt when connected then type

    Ipconfig /all

    Then type

    Tracert 194.119.131.66

    Post both results

  5. I ran both, with the computer connected to my mobile hotspot, since I had it connected to check the forum. If I should run them again while connected to my home network, let me know.

Also, I cannot seem to copy the text from the command prompt screen with the normal select and right click. Is there another way?

    Thanks

  6. Okay, I figured out the copy and paste with a quick search. It is posted below (again, this is when I was connected to the mobile hotspot and I can do so again when connected to the home network if needed)
