Windows 10: Laptop only works in Safe Mode; clean boot doesn't help

I've been browsing the WWW for ages for a solution for my problem without any luck. Hoping you can help.

Here's the issue:

I've exchanged the HDD of my Acer Aspire E1 series with an SDD, reinstalled W10 and now the PC freezes even before I'm able to login. Very occasionally I can login, but then again the system immediately hangs.

Nothing works at that time; mouse isn't moving and the system doesn't respond to any keys. Only remedy is to hold the power key until the system power power down.

Then I get the possibility to login to the system in Safe Mode, and hey, that works !!

So I figured it must be something that's being loaded in W10 that freezes everything up, and so I tried to do a clean boot to minimize the drivers and services that W10 typically loads. No luck though; even with clean boot the system freezes immediately at the login screen.


Next thing I installed the HDD again, booted the system and created a system report through Belarc Advisor. Then I reinstalled the SDD, booted into safe mode and again created a system report. By comparing the two I only saw one interesting difference: the SATA driver. This could be correct though since I am in fact using a different SATA device (SDD instead of HDD). Nevertheless I installed the same SATA driver as being used with the HDD; again no such luck.


Next I went through the system BIOS to see if I could find anything to tweak. Tried disabling the UEFI boot, didn't fix it.


I'm down with my options and have no clue what to look into; any suggestions?

Processor: Intel i5-4200 2.3 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

Graphics: AMD Radeon R5 M200 Series

Original HDD: 1TB Western Digital WDC WD10JPVX-22JC3T0

New SSD: 500 GB Crucial CT500MX500SSD1

Can't boot into Normal/Safe Mode with Networking, only safe mode...

I could do with some pointers on resolving an issue. I can only boot into windows in safe mode in Windows 10. Normal mode and safe mode with networking doesn't work. The problem occurred after a windows update. I have removed the latest updates that were installed and cleared any pending ones but it still won't boot properly. I have also run the troubleshooter and tried to recovery to an earlier date which also doesn't work.
The laptop is a HP ENVY 17 notebook. At boot it just gets to the HP logo with the circular loading icon and no further and can only boot it into safe mode. Can anyone recommend the next steps? I have also tried the following;

• stopping startup items
• uninstalling hardware drivers
• removing recent software
• running troubleshooters at boot
• sfc scan
• diagnostic/selective startups with minimal services running

Would the fact that I cant boot into Safe Mode with Networking imply its a network driver related issue?
Bit of a dead end really, any help would be much appreciated

I deleted all my data. I had have it backed up.

I did a clean installation using the windows media creation tool (usb option).

No, I didn`t. I thought a clean installation would solve the problem.

After posting my previous message, I did it.





After chkdsk, I close cmd and tried to boot and the laptop just turned it off. This morning I`ve restarted it and automatically windows did a repair. Windows has booted and it seems that the repair tool has removed chrome and acrobat pdf reader (the only two programs I had installed after reinstalling windows).

Now Windows is installing updates and restarting my lapop, I`m kind of frightened. I don`t want it to happen again. Anyhow, I want to know what has brought the issue

I`ve been looking for information about the error code at the end of the picture and I didn`t get anywhere.

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.
