Windows 10: Laptop problem

My laptop takes a very long time to boot up, when it does it is frozen at the start up screen for about 10 minutes or so until I can log in. Some days the laptop only has a slow boot and I can use it for about an hour before programs stop responding and it freezes up. Other days it takes an hour to even get in and nothing works, including the time which gets frozen. It's been like this for a while. I get alerts from my antivirus (eset) that say "module updates failed" and updating windows has proved a challenge in itself. Sometimes file names become invisible aswell. These are the specs:

-Intel Core i7-6700HQ

-8GB ram

-GTX 950M

-the model is v550vx

-I got the laptop about 2 years ago


I think the issue is my hard drive but I want to be sure. Any thoughts?

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...


That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
