Windows 10: Laptop running really slow.

Hi,

Looking for help as my laptop takes about 5 secs to load every time I click something. Takes ever longer when I minimize an application and switch to another(that is already open). I just wanted to make sure if my laptop performance is just normal for the specs it has, or something is wrong with it. I mainly use it for photoshop and other adobe apps. This is supposed to be a gaming laptop, but I cant even play dota 2 or overwatch with the lowest settings.


This is an 11 month old laptop Asus FX550.
Disk space is still more than 50% left.
Drivers are all updated(according to my auto updater app)

Processor: Intel core i5-7300HQ CPU @2.5GHz
RAM : 4G
Video Card : GTX 950m

What all troubleshooting steps have you performed?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I would request you to execute the System Maintenance troubleshooter and check if there is any improvement in the speed of laptop.

To perform common maintenance tasks in Windows, such as cleaning up unused files and shortcuts, try using the System Maintenance troubleshooter to automatically find and fix problems. For example, the System Maintenance troubleshooter looks for unused files
and shortcuts that you can clean up or remove so that your computer can run faster.

Please follow the steps to run System Maintenance troubleshooter
on the computer:

  Type “Control Panel” on the search box.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Click on View all option on the left side of the Windows.
  
• 
  Click on System Maintenance option.
  
• 
  Click on Next and follow the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.
  

Please revert if you face any issues with slow speed of laptop.

Really slow

I just updated to Windows 10 and my laptop has been really slow. If I clicked one of the buttons on the task bar, it took a lot of time to pop up. Is there any way I can get Windows 8.1 back?
