Windows 10: Laptop screen has blue tint

Can you roll back to an earlier driver to see if the problem changes?

 

Lots of people have been having interesting and odd video issues after upgrading to 1709. Rolling back the video driver is easy, and might just do the trick. If that doesn't cut it, post again here, and we can find sources for older Nvidia mobile GPUs like yours.

Hi guys, the option "roll back driver" is not clickable in my screen...

 

Here's a link to an older WHQL (official, MS approved) 920M driver: version Backup and Restore Device Drivers in Windows 10.
OTOH, you can use the free and excellent SourceForge utility DriverBackup! to do this instead.

Hi Ed, unfortunately, it didn't work. Any other suggestions are welcome ofcourse. Maybe those ICC profiles? Although I have to say I have no idea how these profiles work.

 

There's a nice tutorial at PC Monitors.info entitled "Using ICC Profiles in Windows." It should, hopefully, tell you everything you need to know. They also include such profiles for the monitors they review there on the site. Good stuff, in general, and hopefully also, applicable to your equipment. If that doesn't cover your needs, the more general (but also generic) ICC profiles will probably help.

I don't have the display panel when I look at > Control Panel – Appearance and Personalisation – Display. So I can't change/edit any profiles!

 

Windows 10 version 1709 should have Control Panel- Colour Management. At least mine does *Confused

Okay, I tried an random ICC profile (couldn't find the exact profile for my laptop), it didn't fix the blue problem, it only changed some brightness/contrast...

 

Make sure you have ticked the "use Windows display calibration" on advanced tab.

 

Didn't work! ...still that annoying blue tint.

 

If no icc profile works I can only suggest you check the screen cabling connectors. The fault is specific to the laptop screen as plugging in a TV works OK.

 

Yes, Westland 40: Kpat62 is right. Your troubleshooting efforts now point to something wrong with either the connection from the GPU to the display (the cabling or connectors, as Kpat62 put it) or in the display itself. Try the connections first, and hope for the best. Otherwise, a trip to the repair shop is looking increasingly likely. If your laptop is still under warranty, you'll want to think about sending it in for repair or exchange under the terms of that warranty. Good luck!

Hi guys, I'm back.

I brought the laptop to a PC shop and they told me that the motherboard was damaged. The best option was that I should buy a new laptop, which I did. I bought the MSI GL62M 7RDX (1050 GTX, 8gb ram). Guess what, this screen has also the same blue tint!!

Now this is a brand new laptop so I think there can't be any problems with the hardware. I updated the Nvida drivers etc, didn't work. Unbelievable. How to fix this? Any suggestions? I just don't understand I have this problem again with a new laptop.

Go to colour management again and click on advanced tab then "calibrate display" button. Keep clicking "next" untill you come to "adjust colour balance". Move the blue colour slider back a bit and see if you get a significant improvement. If you can open a picture or colourful web page and use it as a guide rather than the grey bars I think that is easier.
