Windows 10: Laptop shuts down instead of sleep when idle

Hello,I'm asking a question because I tried all the methods I found here.I'm trying to fix a problem on an Asus k551ln that shuts down instead of going to sleep when let idle. I tried a lot of methods running troubleshooting, reinstalling fully clean windows, powercfg -restoredefaultschemes but none of these are working.The battery in the laptop is completely dead, meaning that when it is unplugged the computer shuts down a few seconds after. So I tried to completely remove the battery from the computer by opening it, and ran the computer plugged in. The problem persists, when it is idle,

Entering Away Mode instead of Sleep as a result of system idle?

What I ended up doing is that...

1. I set the system's sleep & hibernation timer to "Never" as you suggested and...
   
2. I created a .bat file, which sends the system into sleep after a certain idle period. Due to my Away Mode Policy, the computer does not go to normal Sleep, but instead goes into Away Mode instead, because the .bat file is considered as "User intiated action"
   
3. I then scheduled the .bat file to be run after a certain time period of idle with Task Scheduler

Laptop Shuts Down Instead of Sleep

Hi All,

I have an Asus N550JV and since upgrading to Windows 10 I have issues with the Laptop Shutting Down (Or maybe Hibernating?) instead of going to sleep.

If I leave my computer Idle, or close the lid the computer basically restarts when I hit the power button or open the lid back up. Once I have logged in all of my apps are closed and everything is acting like it has crashed.

I have all of the power settings set to sleep when closing the lid. I have also gone into Advance power setting and checked that the settings are set to sleep. Reset everything to windows default.

After checking the event viewer it lists the shut down error as a critical one.

Please can someone help me with this?

 

Laptop shuts down instead of going to sleep

I have a year-old Asus laptop and recently installed Windows 10. Now, instead of going to sleep it shuts down.

If I just leave it running, eventually it goes to sleep. If I don't leave it sleeping for too long it will wake up properly. But if I leave it sleeping for a while it will shut down. If I close the lid, instead of sleeping it shuts down. Under "what
to do when the lid is closed" it is set to go to sleep but obviously this isn't working properly.

This is getting to be a real pain. Every time I open the lid I have to wait while it boots up.

So far, on a scale of 1 - 10 my satisfaction level with Windows 10 is about a 2!
