Windows 10: Laptop shuts down when in hibernation or closing lid

About a week ago my laptop had a change or hard drive. When I got it back, the screen went blank after being put on sleep mode, but I still could see and use the mouse.

I rolled back the display driver and now it won’t project image through hdmi, and whenever I put it on hibernate or close the lid it just shuts down. I even changed the power options and still, it happens. I tried updating the display driver and the blank screen comes back but it still shuts down.

And the sleep choice no longer shows up.

Laptop shuts down when lid is closed

Yesterday I clean installed windows 10 onto my laptop (Asus GL551 Series GL551JM-DH71) to hopefully fix this very problem, but it still persists and is even worse now.

When I close the lid, regardless of any advanced power settings telling it to do nothing, hibernate, sleep, etc, it will shut down. It's making it very hard to do anything on it. I've looked this up and I can see a lot of people are having similar troubles,
but I haven't had any solutions work.

Just to emphasize, this is despite having the power settings set to make the laptop sleep when the lid closes- it will shut down.

despite being told to do nothing- it will shut down.

Any help is appreciated.

I've got a problem (or a feature ? Not so sure) that when I finish my work, I shutting down my laptop, while waiting it to be shut down, I close the lid.
The problem is when I close the lid, the laptop go into sleep mode, and when I back to work, I open the lid to press the power button and it resume the 'shut down' process.
This hasn't happen before, any suggestion ? Many thanks

Computer shuts down when lid is closed


My computer doesn't suspend or hibernate when I close the lid no matter which configurations I set on power options. It always shuts down the computer. If I click the power button before closing the lid, it suspends but when I close the lid he shuts down. I've tried to update the bios, it solved the problem but its happening again. I've also updated Intel Management Engine Interface driver as advised by asus and did not work.

PS: If I set it to do nothing it doesn't shut down, just does nothing, which is really not useful for me.
