Windows 10: laptop sleeping

Not only that, but now it does a shutdown in stead of sleep. That is NOT what I am looking for!

I now found out that the option "Inhibit System Sleep when Torrents are active" of qBittorrent does work. So I keep a torrent active all the time (at a very low bandwith), and my laptop stays awake.

Update: the problem still exists. I have set everything in group policy that may have to do something with sleeping to prevent sleeping, but nothing helps. I have reinstalled Windows 10, but the problem persists. I have installed Windows 10 from the same DvD iso file on another laptop, but there the problem does not occur.

So it seems to be something specific to my laptop. I have tried to update the BIOS (or rather: reinstall the current version, because there is no newer version), but the update tool refuses to do that, just because the current version is already installed.

I am now considering to replace the mother board. But isn't that overkill?

Well, that is not what I see. Last night, I had event 42 at 00:24:32, system enters sleep by application API. No clue which application.
Two seconds later, I see event 107, the system resumes from sleep. This is odd, because it simply seems to be not true. The next entry is timed at 07:58:32, at which time I woke the system with the power button. This is event 1, but that seems to have nothing to do with sleeping, because it is about the system time being synchronized with the hardware clock.

You may be able to investigate this further by using
Powercfg
at a command prompt.
Powercfg /?
- lists all the parameters.
E.g.
powercfg /lastwake
powercfg /waketimers
powercfg /devicequery
- try
powercfg /devicequery /?
for a list of further options for this

powercfg does not tell me much: /lastwake: Wake History Count - 0
/waketimers: There are no active wake timers in the system.

Plus: my problem is not that the system wakes up, but that it goes to sleep even when I set everything I can think of to not going to sleep.

Thanks, but I tried that before. Until now, I found nothing similar to my problem.
Little programs that simulate user activity seem to work sometimes, but not always. Programs like qBittorrent, which have an option to prevent sleep when a torrent is active, also work, sometimes. And yes, I have enabled the option that allows programs to do that, all four of them, in group policy.
