  1. Laptop slowed down in general despite factory reset

    Hi Brink!

Yes I have gone through that tutorial but got nowhere, unfortunately. I have tried Option 1 to boot from USB Drive within Windows. I didn't see the USB name show up but pressed EFI USB Device. Then when that didn't work I tried option 2 to boot from USB Drive a Boot on Windows 10 PC but received error messages ''the selected boot device have failed.

I tried to navigate through system configuration but it all seems to be in another language to me! *Confused
    Please see attached the images.

    Your advice would be appreciated!

I notice that you have "Secure Boot" enabled in your middle screenshot. Some motherboards do not support booting from a USB flash drive with it enabled.

As a test, disable "Secure Boot", and see if you're able to boot from the USB. Once Windows 10 has successfully been clean installed, you can enable it again.

    No success.
When I created the bootable USB, I did not choose UEFI option. Could this be what is causing the issue?
As I see I only have the option EFI USB (seen on 3rd image)

  7. Yes planning to do just this, but it is stuck on 'Automatic Repair'.
The only other laptop I have access to is a Mac *hides from everyone*
I wonder if it will let me create a bootable usb, use Rufus etc.

Will let you know how it goes! *Roflmao2

    So mac doesn't do Rufus.
Pressing reset on PC to be able to access desktop again.

Update: got the error: There was a problem resetting this PC.

Hmmm going to call it a night and try again tomorrow!

    Hi Dragongirl,

    How's it going?

  10. Hi axe0! Thanks for checking in!

I am just trying to figure out how to create a bootable UEFI usb using a macbook as I no longer have access to the PC desktop - it seems have discovered it isn't making things hard enough and went into a 'Preparing Automatic Repair' loop

    *Roflmao2

In all seriousness: I have three options now:
    1) Find someone who owns a PC to let me download a bootable USB
    2) Figure out a way to use the mac to create a bootable USB
    3) Hope the affected PC miraculously comes out of the loop - speaking of which, is there a way to use the Command Prompt available on Advanced Repair menu to get out of it?

    Thanks in advance! *Smile

You're welcome. Hope it solves more problems than it causes! If there'd been a TenForums tutorial or discussion of this that I could find, I would rather have provided that instead. But...my hopes remain that everything turns out for the best.
