  1. laptop stuck in advanced settings due to various reset fails after BSOD

Im looking for any advice if anyone can help with my laptop, i cant take it to a repair shop due to lockdown but really need it for uni work so any help would be really appreciated!
I started having issues with my laptop crashing with bsod memory management and critical process error - i tried updating windows but it got worse so I did a fresh start, however, the problem proceeded with bsod

I did sfc scannow, advanced repair and various other scans which can back with corrupt files - I then tried to reset laptop however when windows 10 was reinstalling it froze and started glitching between HP load screen and windows install, even after turning off it went back to that so i could only get into computers BIOS options - I created a clean windows install on usb - i used this to get advanced settings back -

I then tried to fix former install and instead it created a very basic version of windows and I could not get onto any settings so I had to used command prompt to reset it

The reset failed and said it couldnt reset properly so im now back stuck to the advanced set up screen! Im stuck with what to do its less than a year old its a HP laptop with an AMD ryzen 5 processor - i fear ive made it worse by playing around with it - im stuck as i cant get it to repairs atm and have been told it might be hardware but just need a solution to get it out of being stuck in advanced setting, i dont know wether to try restart again or reinstall clean version

Any help would be great, thank you :

    :)

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.

First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

    Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

    Problem with Advanced Power Settings

For System file checker error :
Right Click Start Menu, type services.msc and press Enter.
Look down the list for Windows Modules Installer make sure it is set to manual.

DISM Error 87 may be due to putting it in wrong.

It is looking more like need to repair this install. Windows 10 came on this when you bought it used. correct ? Either try Recovery options to reset the laptop without loosing any files. I do not know if upgrade was most likely done first as it is an older laptop, it should of been done first as you had to, to be activated then.

Option # 2 since i believe it is not UEFI BIOS Reset Windows 10

Also suggest if you do not already have to make a disc or USB Bootable Flash Drive, good to have.

  4. laptop stuck in advanced settings due to various reset fails after BSOD

    Windows 10 fails to update

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
