Laptop unable to connect to anything despite WiFi Working

I have been run a little tagged by this issue thats been plauging me since friday. Windows 10 kept asking me to instal some important update, and that night I let it run and shut down.

The next day I found after logging in windows was just a black screen. I first tried reinstalling windows. It seemed to work, but then I opened google chrime to find the same error to every site I tried to connect: NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID , even huge sites like google and twitter have an invalid certificate. Other browsers have the same problem. Not only that, but any apps that need to connect to a network also dont work, which makes me think its not a browser issue. The update troubleshooter and network troubleshooter both dont work.

Ive tried to reset my PC multiple times, uninstall updates which doesnt work, sfc /scannow Which finds corrupted files but cant fix them, even though Windows Modules Installer is working in services, and Ive even tried using a usb as a recovery drive but my laptop wont actually go through with using that option when I click on it, it just boots up the advanced help screen after a reset.

Im at a loss for what to do, and really dont want to lose my only laptop since all it has now are the base apps, what do I do?

    :)

Laptop unable to automatically connect to university wifi

    Hello,

as the Title says, ever since upgrading to windows 10, my laptop will not automatically connect to my university wifi. It simply says (translated from german) "connection to this network is impossible".
to bypass this issue i have to go to the "known networks" list and make my laptop forget the university wifi network.
after that i can manually connect to the wifi and it prompts me to type in my id and pass as it is supposed to, then it logs me in. It is (obviously) a public network, so i suppose its got to do something with security settings, but i didnt find anything that would seem to solve the issue.
    things ive tried:
    • change frequency of 802.11 to 20MHz only (from automatically).
    • enable FIPS encryption.
    • Update my network adapters drivers.
    • manually type in the id and pw in the specific networks settings

the thing is, when i had win7 on this laptop it would always autoconnect to this network, it only happened after installing win10.

    edit: fixed typo in title

  3. Laptop Freezes or wifi gets disconnected and unable to connect to new wifi hotspot when laptop is moved

I have an Asus X550LD laptop with 8gb ram , graphics card and i 5 processor.

When my laptop is moved, then one of the below mentioned things happen.

    1. My laptop freezes totally. It does not respond to any key and then I had to only hard reboot the computer.
    2. My laptop gets disconnected to the connected hotspot and then it shows very few hotspot and it is unable to connect to any of them.
It does not happen when the laptop is moved in a certain direction or way. I think it is totally random.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

laptop cant connect or stay connected to internet

And please do check that is the connection problem is occurring with that specific WiFi router or with others too? Try to connect using different router, and if you don't have a router try connecting it to WiFi hotspot and test it.
I had that problem when my old-router stopped working I replaced it with new one and in a day my laptop HP-450 was unable to connect to it whereas all other devices were connected. At first I had the same feeling that my laptop was not working and tried every thing but nothing worked. Then I tried connecting to my WiFi hotspot and it worked even in long range. Then I called Dlink and got it replaced. With the new router I had no problems.
Also do check the number of devices connected.
