Windows 10: Laptop won't shut down/restart at all, can't update Windows

It just blue-screens with the following error: DRIVER_RETURNED_HOLDING_CANCEL_LOCK
What failed: hpssvbus.sys

I've googled and tried many things, including:
- updating drivers
- sfc file scanning it stops at around 70%
- trojan virus remover nothing found
- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool nothing found
- deleting the hpssvbus using all the correct steps
- Windows 10 Update Assistant fails, error 0x80070002
- reseting this PC

Most of the time, the issue regarding a device that won't shut down properly may be caused by a system conflict after an update or that there are some incompatibility issues. To assist you with this concern, we recommend that you run the troubleshooter.
To do this, kindly follow the steps listed below:

• Type troubleshooting in the Search bar and press
  Enter.
  
• Click on View all on the left-side of the page.
  
• Click on each category below then follow the on-screen prompt to run the troubleshooter:
  

• Background Intelligent Transfer Service
  
• Hardware and Devices
  
• Power
  
• Windows Update

Note: Make sure that you restart your PC after running the troubleshooter for each category.

Random shut down and restart??

Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
E220@2.406hz
2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
Windows xp

Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused *Mad

One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

The issue might occur if the computer is not shut down properly. so, I suggest you to perform a power drain by follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.
