Windows 10: Last July, I tried installing version 2004 several times and it did not work

I have a Dell Gamer laptop, Inspirion 7559 that I use for music production.

Windows 10 Home 1909 latest build, 18363.1316 with all recent cumulative, updates and Security updates installed

Now Windows is offering me the version 20H2 update. What should I do?


Last July, I tried installing version 2004 several times and it did not work so I had to revert back to 1909 and I kept delaying retries. Can or should I download the 2004 update from some support site? It no longer offers it automatically on my laptop.


Also lately, I have been getting random blue screen crashes that force a restart. Driver failure: NDU.sys
Generic "error not handled." Maybe that is just a minor, annoying incompatibility with a software app. I try to keep my drivers up to date.

Install version 2004

Yesterday is the 2nd time I tried to install version 2004. The first time was when it was an available download in September. Both times it failed with error 0xc1900101. I don't have any external devices attached except for the wireless mouse. My laptop
is a Dell Inspiron 15 3000. I have version 1909 now. My virus protection is Windows Defender. Any suggestions?

To solve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Rollback to the last Stable version of Windows. Basically, restore your system to the last stable point.

2. Download the Windows Update Assistant tool.

3. Install the updates as recommended by that tool.

Note: Windows 10 version 2004 has brought a lot of bugs with it. The best way to move forward is to wait until a patched Windows 10 version 2004 is released.
