Windows 10: Latest 1809 update

I installed the latest 1809 update yesterday and it deleted 99% of my download folder. Before this update series was suspended a couple of months ago, an update deleted the contents of both my documents and downloads folders. Luckily I have backups from which to restore the deleted files.


I thought updates were suspended until this issue was resolved. It looks like it has not been.

1809 Update Queries


For those who updated please advise:

1. Does the Classic Shell v4.3.1 still work as some have suggested? If not what version of Open Shell is most suitable?
2. Does the update create another recovery partition?
3. Can anyone running MS Money confirm it still works in this update?

 

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.


Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows 1809 Started the install on Surface Pro 4 but it stopped and the update screen closed by itself.

It started the download of 1809 and I walked away. Came back twenty minutes later and the update page was no longer open. Tried update again and it said it's updated.

It didn't complete the update or state the RESTART NOW.

Update history lists 1809 and states RESTART REQUIRED but since it didn't complete the install restarting does nothing.

So it thinks it's installed the 1809 update but it hasn't. It won't download 1809 again.

ABOUT say's it is 1803.
