Discus and support Latest 7-Zip Update in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; 7-Zip installer is nothing but just a self extract executable.     That was one of the reasons I installed it since I will need it for something when I can't do it in WinRAR.

    My point is you did not have to install it, just extract it to a folder and use it as a portable app.

    I don't think there is much point to WinRAR or WinZip any more. 7-zip compresses smaller, is faster and will open anything. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago you needed to buy WinRAR but not any more I think.

    WinRAR supposedly handles extracting .cab's better according to someone else in the Realtek HD Audio driver thread. I don't even use WinZip anymore. WinZip, WinRAR, PKZip, PKARC are all commercial programs. I didn't realize 7-zip was completely free until recently. I work for NASA and also own a ISP so I have volume licenses to use.
