Windows 10: Latest Mail and Calendar apps suddenly quit, even after app reset and system restarts

Windows 10 Mail Version 16005.13426.20368.0


After recent updates about a week ago, both Mail and Calendar will open but then suddenly quit. I've tried resetting the account setup and running the troubleshooter along with system restarts.


I could reestablish three email accounts following the reset, however, the app still quits unexpectedly. I can not switch folders, accounts, or even open a selected message.


I'd rather not look for a third-party app, so hoping this post brings a solution.

Mail and Calendar app stuck on Creating account

All,
My Mail and Calendar app has failed to work since this morning.
It stopped receiving any mail this morning, with the reset of the mail app pretty much making it useless.



I have reset the app, restarted the computer and now the next step if it has to happen, a FULL reset of the computer.
Is there any problems with the way Gmail has been set up today?
I am running Windows 10 1903 x64 on a Lenovo 330-15ikb.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Mail & Calendar App


By default, M&C app will install an outlook account according to your sign in. I sign into W10 with a non MS account "---@gmail.com" so my default account is listed like this, I can't seem to straighten it out/ delete/change it. Suggestions appreciated.
