    Microsoft media player will not play ripped cds which it previously played.

    Hi,

    To address this concern, we suggest that you these steps on how to check for latest updates in Windows Media Player:

    • Launch Windows Media Player and press Alt + H.
    • Click on About Windows Media Player option to know the version of the player.
    • Select Check for updates option under Help menu to update it.

    Have you tried running the troubleshooter for WMP? If not, we suggest that you try to run the troubleshooter and
    see if it helps. To run the troubleshooter, follow these steps:


    • On the search bar, type
      Troubleshooting.

    • Click on
      Programs.

    • Under
      Media
      Player, click on
      Windows Media Player Settings
      and
      Windows Media Player Library.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with media player. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Make sure your computer is running the latest updates for your operating system.
    2. Try resetting Windows Media Player to its default settings.

      Settings > Apps > Apps& features > find Media player in the list of apps > Advanced Options > Reset
    3. If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling Media Player.

      settings > Apps > Apps& features > find Media player in the list of apps > Advanced Options > Uninstall> then download the latest version from Microsoft Store and reinstall it.
    If none of these step's work, please let me know if Media Player does not work for any error message so I can provide an alternative solution.
