Windows 10: Latest security update for windows10 dated 14/12/20 - KB4586786

CAN MICROSOFT OR SOMEONE PLEASE HELP - EVER SINCE THE LATEST WINDOWS 10 SECURITY UPDATE INSTALLEDKB4586786, MY PRINTER HAS ISSUES - WHEN I GO TO PRINT AN EMAIL IT PRINTS OUT THE EMAIL IN ONE CORNER OF AN A4 PAGE SO SMALL THAT YOU CAN HARDLY READ IT - IT IS REDUCED TO ABOUT "10%" OF NORMAL SIZE !!!!


**** IS GOING ON MICROSOFT ?????? I HAVE TRIED TO UNINSTALL THIS PROBLEMATIC UPDATE BUT TO NO AVAIL - I HAVE USED ELEVATED COMMAND PROMPT WUSA , ADVANCED STARTUP ETC. TO NO AVAIL - A MESSAGE COMES UP THAT TELLS ME " I CANNOT UNINSTALL THE UPDATE " YADAYADAYADA..........................HEY MICROSOFT, THE UPDATE IS AFFECTING MY PRINTER AND IT'S MY COMPUTER AND I WANT IT GONE .....PLEASE & THANK YOU.....................I DONT WANT TO BE PRINTING OUT "MICROSCOPIC" EMAILS !!!!


NB - ALL OTHER PRINTING SEESM TO BE UNAFFECTED - IT IS ONLY AFFECTING PRINTING OF MY EMAILS FOR WHATEVER REASON BUT IT ONLY STARTED HAPPENING WITH THIS LATEST SECURITY UPDATE.

Windows 10 version 1607: Problems connecting to the Internet KB3206632 Installed 12-14

I hope I am not speaking too soon but both the HP and Asus laptops have been incident free since 12-17...3 days! That might be a record.

• WiFi adapter disables itself and will not allow it to be re-enabled. Troubleshoot will not fix and restart is required.
  But the disabled adapter also causes restart to hang and a forced shutdown by physically turning off the device is needed to resolve.
  • Both devices prior dates, and 12-14
• Windows restarts itself. HP prior dates and 12-9
• Icons disappear from the System Tray (Volume, Power or Network) and are grayed out in settings.
  Restart Explore.exe in Task Manager to resolve. Asus 12-11, 12-12, 12-14, 12-16
• Edge fails to find web pages (including Outlook.com) it found successfully every other previous day.
  The required resolution is to restart and run CCleaner before launching Edge.
  Prior dates and 12-10 HP, 12-14 Both devices, 12-16 HP
• On or before the day of an update, Windows is painfully slow. 11-9, 12-9, 12-14HP

Happy New Year? Please tell us if stuff like this is going to be resolved soon or are we going to have to put with them for another 18 months?

Edge fails to find web pages, WiFi adapter disables itself, Windows restarts itself and Icons disappear from the System Tray are ongoing problems on 2 laptops, Asus and HP, upgraded to Win 10 August 2015, both using anniversary edition version 1607,
64 bit, installed on 8-24-16.

• Edge fails to find web pages it found successfully every other previous day such as Outlook.com.
  Edge is set to open the same web pages every time it is launched.
  To resolve, Restart and run CCleaner before launching Edge. Post-restart, attempting to launch Edge without first running CCleaner results in the same web page failure.
  • Asus last occurred: 1-2-17, 12-21-16, 12-14, numerous dates since August 2015. Never happened on IE in Win 8.1
  • HP last occurred: 1-1-17, 12-28-16, 12-27, 12-16, 12-14, 12-10, numerous dates since August 2015.
    Never happened on IE in Win 7.
  • 12-22: CCleaner upgraded to a pay version on both devices. It automatically cleans Edge on exit to avoid having to manually run the free version every time Edge fails.
    Edge has been set up delete history on exit since the Anniv. Edition was installed.
    But the Cookies box was not checked because some need to be saved.
    CCleaner can save cookies for specific sites in order to facilitate their performance and presentation.
  • 12-29: Set CCleaner to run when Windows starts in addition to cleaning Edge on exit.
  • 1-3-17: IPV4 DNS changed from obtaining server automatically to obtaining a specified server 8888, Alt. 8844
    
  • Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3206632) successfully installed 12-14 was supposed to fix this.

  • HP last occurred: 1-6, 1-1, 12-27-16, 12-14, numerous dates since August 2015. Never happened while on Win 7.
• Windows restarts itself for no reason
  • HP last occurred: 12-31-16, 12-9, numerous dates since August 2015.
    Never happened while on Win 7.
• Icons disappear from the System Tray (Volume, Power or Network) and are grayed out in settings.
  Restart Explore.exe in Task Manager to resolve.
  • Asus last occurred: 1-6, 1-1, 12-16-16, 12-14, 12-12, 12-11, numerous dates since August 2015.

Strollin: I understand your suggestion, but that means I'll have to re-install all my sofftware etc. again. This is not an enticing thought at all.

LCDR: I tried the old activation code I used before - it is the same on you posted.

I tried the steps listed at the WinAero site. Last one failed because it said the server could not be located. But I did get the Jan 20, 2016 date back. So that's something.
