Windows 10: Latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Windows 10

It seems that Synaptics is no longer publishing generic drivers at this time. I could not find any touchpad drivers anywhere on their Website. For my HP the latest version is 19.3.31.31. For your Toshiba the advice that Shawn provided is probably the best that you are going to find.

Toshiba no longer supply drivers for my Toshiba Satellite, they come from Windows Updates, the Synaptics Touchpad version is 19.4.3.38 (April 2017), R and L clicks are OK.
You don't need the latest driver just one that works with the Laptop hardware you have.

 

I went back to the last Toshiba one from 2016. It worked this time, but did not when I tried using it in the past. Thanks for the answers!!

I'm having problems with my touchpad and after 2 days of trying, I'm hoping that someone can help.

I updated Win 10 to the creators update, and it replaced my touchpad driver with the precision touchpad driver (which I can't stand), and I can't figure out how to get it back.

I have a Samsung series 9 (NP900XL5), that was working perfectly until the update. I have tried downloading and installing various Synaptics drivers (from various places on the internet, as neither Samsung nor Synaptics currently have drivers available for download), but to no joy.

When I run the setup, it appears to work fine, and tells me the drivers have been installed, but there is no change, and it's still showing as a precision touchpad in settings, and I don't have my old gesture controls back.

I've also tried to update the drivers in device manager, but I'm wondering if part of the problem is that I just don't know which driver I should be updating. In Device Manager, I have the following listed under "Human Interface Device":
- HID-compliant vendor-defined device
- I2C HID Device
- Microsoft Input Configuration Device
- Samsung PTP Component Device

These all seem related to the touchpad, and if I disable the I2C HID Device, all the others disappear. If I disable this or the Samsung PTP Component Device the touchpad stops working completely (not unexpected!)

There is also "HID-compliant mouse" listed under "Mice and other pointing devices".

I've tried updating the driver for each of these to the various synaptics ones that I've downloaded, but can't get it working.

If anyone can offer any advice/help I'll be eternally grateful - I'm getting so frustrated at the loss of one finger scrolling and the awful palm sensitivity!

found a synaptic driver that windows update does not remove.
used to use synaptic touchpad driver 19.0.19.1 then used a program that updates drivers and it put on an synaptic clickpad driver 19.3.4.31 and so far working fine
