    Latest update killed my Audio.

    Hi,

During Windows Update, your audio driver could have been changed which may result in such issue. Usually, a device like audio requires a software driver for the operating system to recognize it. To help you out sort this concern,
we'd like to ask the following questions:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • Are you experiencing the problem when playing music on your device? Is it happening when using a player or through online streaming?
    • Are you using a third-party application when playing music on your device?

In the meantime, as an initial step to troubleshoot your concern, we recommend that you follow the steps provided on this
link on how to run the Sound troubleshooter. The troubleshooter will perform
a diagnostic process on your system that will check and fix issues related to audio settings.
If the troubleshooter finds any issues, it'll be listed in the result with additional instructions you may need to follow. However, in most cases, the troubleshooter will find and apply fixes automatically.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

New Win10 update killed my audio

Since you have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest driver of your audio card, we suggest you to follow the steps below to check if the speaker has been set as default in the Playback devices:

    • Right-click on the speaker icon on the right bottom of the desktop.
    • Click on Playback devices to see a list of devices connected to the system.
    • If it is not listed, it is possible that the device has been disabled because of the update. Right click and select
      Show Disabled Devices.
    • If your device is listed after this, right click on the speaker and select
      enable
      .
    • Right click on the speaker and click Set as Default option present at the bottom of the same window.

If the issue persists, you can try to roll back driver if it is available in the options. To rollback the driver, you may follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows + R on the desktop screen.
    • Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
    • Expand the category you want and right click on the driver and select properties.
    • Navigate to driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.

If the Roll Back Driver is not available, you may try to install an older version of your audio driver from the Manufacturer's website. You need to uninstall first all the devices for Sound, video and game controllers under the Device Manager (HD Audio Device
and NVIDIA Audio Device) before reinstalling the driver.

Let us know the status of the issue so we can assist you more.

  4. latest update killed my audio

The latest WIN 10 version killed all audio!

The latest WIN 10 version killed all audio! I "reset" the machine, now OK. Is there a way to not accidently update to this version? Microsoft keeps "reminding me to update" and that persistence worries me.
