Windows 10: Latest windows update, causing controller problems

Hi, ever since i updated to the latest version of windows, my xbox 360 controller has been acting weird, for about 10-30 mins the controller will work fine and i'll have no problems, but after that, the controller doesn't work, none of the buttons work, no input is acknowledged, the controller still have it's light on and i've tried testing it in another PC with the lastest update aswell and i get the same problems, now, when i tried it in a console, it works fine, none of these problems occur, is there a possible fix to this, as i've updated the drives, uninstalled them and reinstalled, tried older ones, and moving it to others ports and nothing works.

firefox and IE will cause problems?

could there be any reasonable explanation why firefox and ie would cause problems?

oh, and when the machine crashes it is the blue screen of death and when windows recovers it suggests bios update. this is a machine that hasnt been upgraded driver wise or bios wise, yet they insist it is firefox. give me a break.

Method 1:

I suggest you to download and install all the available Windows update and check if it helps.

Method 2:

I suggest you to uninstall the display driver and re-install the latest version of display driver from the computer manufacturer website. Check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall the sound driver.

a. Press Windows Key + X and then click
Device Manger.

b. Expand ‘Sound Video and Game Controllers”.

c. Right-click on ‘High Definition Audio Device
and select ‘uninstall’.

d. Follow the prompt and restart the computer.



Step 2:

I suggest you to install latest display from computer manufacturer website and check if it helps. If Windows 10 drivers are not available,
I suggest you to install the driver in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

To install the display driver
in compatibility mode, I would suggest you to follow these steps:

a. Download the latest display driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

d. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and
select latest Windows version from the drop down list.

e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Latest Windows 10 update - problems

In Windows 10, your device is always kept up to date with the latest features and fixes. Updates and drivers are installed automatically, with no need to select which updates are needed or not needed.
In rare cases, a specific driver or update might temporarily cause issues with your device.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

• In search type Taskbar and select
  customize the taskbar.
• Now check if auto-hide task bar is tick marked.
• If yes, uncheck the check box, click on Apply
  and OK.

Once you get your taskbar back, follow the below steps to pin applications to taskbar.

• Go to the applications which you want to pin to taskbar.
• Right click on it and select pin to taskbar.

Example: Right click on Chrome from desktop icon and select pin to taskbar.
