Lenovo Ideacentre - AIO 310 Freezes randomly! Please, HELP!

    Hey! What's up?

So, I bought my Lenovo AIO 310 back in June 2018 and it's awesome, I love it!
I use it to record my music, Netflix, FBook and whatnot. The youzh.

I don't have much software on it, just Cubase, SampleTank 3, etc.

I updated Windows 10 back in July, and that's when it started to freeze.
It doesn't matter what I'm doing, it just freezes randomly.
I turn it off and on and that's it. I've tried to give it time to "come back" but no, 2 hours pass by and nothing happens.

I saw on a YouTube video that I should troubleshoot to see what could be wrong with it.
I gave it a try but it's frozen! I can't do anything! The mouse is off, the Keyboard has one green button but after pressing some keys, it doesn't do anything!

Also, I don't know how to do the Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Tab+Delt thing.

I can sometimes use the computer for a few hours, between crashes and nothing I'm working on seems to specifically trigger them.
Sometimes it is just while I'm Reading a website and I try to scroll down to the next part and find that it is frozen, or if I'm watching YouTube, Netflix, listening to music, recording on Cubase, it freezes and makes a noise because of what I was watching or doing.

    Mostly with videos.

As I said, I only use it for work.
I've been trying a lot of things for the past 3 weeks. Nothing seems to work.
    No viruses, malware, no nothing.

So, here are some if not all of the methods I've found on the internet:

    - Update Graphics/Video Drivers
    - Reset the Winsock Catalog
    - Increase Virtual Memory
    - Turn Off Link State Power Management - This is ****!
    - Turn Off Fast Startup - Nada
    - Diagnose Your Hard Disk for Issues - Nothing found!
    - System Restore- It works for 2 days then it starts again.

I want to go back to Windows 8. This update really doesn't work.

So, I'm thinking in moving all my files to another computer or hard drive and then,
do a Reset to factory if possible. It's my last resort.

I only hope it does work.

I'm desperate, I'm behind schedule on my work and I can't work like this!

Anyway, if you guys have any more ideas, let me know.
    Thanks for reading.

    :)

    Lenovo IdeaCentre 310S randomly restarting

A colleague of mine recently recieved a new Lenovo IdeaCentre 310S. After some trouble we installed an SSD and installed a fresh version of windows 10 home (before all this the computer had the same problem)

But even after all that the computer still randomly just turns off without any notice or anything and starts back up like nothing happened. This happends randomly, so sometimes it restarts after a few hours of work. Sometimes even as little as 15 min after being turned on.

I have tried different settings, different powersaving settings etc. I have also googled around with 0 to no luck.

Anyone that also had/had this problem?

    Kind regards,
    Robbert

It comes and goes like in periods of 20 or so days without crashes, but it is really annoying when they comes back.

As I said, I only use it for work.

So, what can I do? I don't want to take it to some "tech", because I've had a bad experience with that.

If they can't find a solution they just say "I'm gonna have to erease everything..." and I don't want that, my work is in here!

Anyway, I hope you guys can help me out. Thanks for reading. Happy Holidays!

Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 310 Freezes! Please, HELP!

Hi EV. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 9 year Windows MVP and Independent Advisor, here to help you.

If this was caused by Windows Update(s) then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here:

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them:

    http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t...

If you want to try to repair it then Update your drivers from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones
presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue
with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

If nothing else helps you can run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows in about an hour while saving your files, apps and most settings, solves many problems while also bringing
it up to the latest version 1809 which you need anyway and by the most stable method.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

    --------------------------------------------

But remember that in Windows 10 everything depends upon the quality of the install, and Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Consider now or later doing the Clean Install
in this link which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

There is also an automated Fresh Start that reinstalls WIndows while shedding corrupting factory bloatware, saves your files, but doesn't clear the drive to get it cleanest:

    https://www.howtogeek.com/265054/how-to-easily-...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
