    Lenovo Ideapad 100S-11IBY Factory reset does not work


    My son purchased this over a year ago and stopped using it 6 months ago.

    The Micorsoft update assistant is trying to load but there is not enough room so it cancels.

    I had to uninstall but the it keeps trying to install.

    I decided to set it back to factory default and wipe it clean.

    However it gets to 62% will sit there for 10 to 20 minutes then it will say it something has gone wrong and can't continue.


    How do I reset the laptop back to factory default?

    No, it is 100S-11IBY, the label also says Model name 80R2

    Lenovo Ideapad 100S-11IBY problems after installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update (aka version 1607)

    Sorry for the delay, I've been away and as the device was unusable, I didn't take it with me.

    1. Windows Update Troubleshooter didn't help.

    2. I looked at the driver update article, and then went to the Lenovo website. In 'Drivers and Software' for this device, there was a 'Chipset' driver called 'Intel Platform Driver for Windows 10 (32 bit) - Ideapad 100S-11IBY'. I downloaded and installed
    this, then after being prompted, restarted the device. I am happy to report that

    (a) the keyboard now works

    (b) the trackpad now works

    (c) the microSD card is now recognised by File Explorer

    (d) the audio now works
