Original title: Lenovo USB-C 3.0 Hub with Realtek GB Ethernet, Ethernet not working on Lenovo Flex 5 with Windows 10 Pro


I plug in the Lenovo USB-C C506 USB 3.0 hub + Gigabit Ethernet (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0761RZ5WJ). The USB portion works fine.


For the Realtek Gigabit Ethernet section, first it enumerates the USB device with a yellow triangle exclamation point, then it drops the device, then it re-enumerates it but it is hidden. It shows a Code 45, “the hardware device is not connected to the computer.” I have downloaded the driver for the device and tried installing the driver manually but it doesn’t help. Yes, I’ve rebooted, removed and reinstalled the device and the driver multiple times, to no avail. The laptop is a Lenovo Flex 5 Core i7. The network cable is fine and another computer connects, via its internal Ethernet card, using the same cable, just fine.

USB Composite Device Code 45

Hello, lately I have been having problems with the USB ports of the left side of my laptop not working correctly. Anything plugged into these ports will not work, but if plugged into the port on the right side the device will work regardless of which device
I plug in (mouse or headphones). I have tried the following:

• Restarting my computer
• Making sure everything is enabled in BIOS
• Running the troubleshooter for hardware and devices

And in the device manager I have tried:

• Updating everything under Universal Serial Bus controllers
• Uninstalling everything under Universal Serial Bus controllers and then restarting the computer
• Made sure everything is enabled

However, in the device manager, if I view hidden devices a second USB Composite Device appears but the symbol for it is grayed out. When I click on properties it says this in the details:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

I have tried uninstalling and updating this device but nothing will work, and I have a feeling this is what is preventing my USB ports from working correctly. I have been searching online for fixes but cant seem to find anything else I have not tried at
this point.

Let me start out by saying that I've googled the shit out of this problem, tried several things, and nothing worked.

I have a D-Link USB 2.0 Hub that I got about a week ago. It's been working awesome up until recently. It's a plug and play device, however windows is failing to recognize it, and thus making everything I have plugged into it unusable.

In the 'Device Status' box it says:

I've tried:
Restarting computer
Deleting the 'driver' in device manage and restarting
Force installed various different USB Hub drivers through windows
Uninstalling the driver and restarting
Altering USB power settings
Letting windows automatically update driver software
Scanning for hardware changed
Tried looking for a 'Power Management' tab in the properties menu - it's not there (because I am on desktop?)
Contacting D-Link support - the guy knew nothing
