Windows 10: LG C9 + 3080 video stutter after Windows 10 update

I have an LG C9 connected to my pc with a 3080 GPU. Running my desktop at 2160p 120hz. Last week I updated Windows 10 to the latest version. Since then, I've been getting this occasional stutter on all videos I play. This includes Youtube videos in Chrome as well as any video played in MPC or VLC. It happens around every 15 seconds of playback

This morning, I reinstalled Windows in the hopes that this would rectify the issue. However, it seems as though it's actually related to that Windows update! This patch: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...-preview-1a7ed2b4-017d-2644-a1e8-dd6bf14cba76 was released and includes a fix for video flicker on low latency monitors.

However, even after installing the patch, the issue persists! I've reset all the settings in Nvidia CP and even disables Gsync and instant game mode on the TV. No luck so far and not sure what I can try next.

I can't get a video to stream to my lg smart tv in full screen , it's playing full screen on the pc no problem

To assist you better, I like to know; how exactly you are trying to stream video from your PC to LG Smart TV?

As an initial step, I suggest you to try updating the display adapter on your system.

Follow the below steps:

• Click on the Start button, and type Device Manager on the search bar.
• Open Device Manager, expand Display Adapters.
• Find and double-click Display Adapters from the left panel to update.
• Right-click the device, and click Update.

As you are able to play the video full screen in your PC, then it might be an issue related to LG Smart TV. I suggest you to check for the LG Smart TV manual and check what all settings need to done to play video in full screen.

Update and stuttering issue

Method 1: Update video adapter driver.


Verify that the latest drivers for the display adapter are installed.

• a. At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
• b. Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results
  
• c. When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.
  

I would also suggest you to refer to the following article and perform the steps mentioned under “Update driver” section.

for windows 10)

Method 2:

Check the Device status in the Device Manager. The yellow exclamation mark provides an indication of a device's current status and could mean that there is a system resource conflict, a driver issue, or any number of other
things. Refer to these steps to open Device Manager.

Step 1. Press Windows and X keys together.

Step 2. Click on Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand Sound, video and game controller.

Step 4. Please check with the optional driver updates through windows update and check if it helps. And

Download and install drivers in Windows 8.1 (Also
applicable for windows 10)

Method 3: If the issue still prissiest, install the Windows 8.1 drivers in compatibility mode.

Step 1. Download the Windows 8.1 drivers.

Step 2. Right click on the downloaded driver file.

Step 3. Click/tap on
Troubleshoot Compatibility.

I also suggest install the latest drivers available for Windows 10 and check if it helps.
