Windows 10: LG Slim portable DVD Writer

I just received my new LG slim portable external DVD writer and cannot get it to work. I have Windows 10 on my laptop. I have inserted the DVD that came with it and it seems to be read and a few minutes later the writer opens and says insert DVD. I have done this but am unable to open or view my DVD. When I open documents to check Drive E it is not there. Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

LG Slim Portable DVD Writer & Windows 10

I have the external LG Slim Portable DVD Writer that is compatible to Windows 8 and recently downloaded Windows 10 to my Samsung laptop. Now my LG DVD Writer won't play any dvd's, the computer recognizes them and so does the VLC app but won't play it.
Do I have to buy another DVD Writer that is compatible with Windows 10?

I have an LG Slim Portable DVD Writer that was working fine until the latest software update today. In my settings it says "Driver error". I tried to update the driver software like you suggested above, but it says it is already up to date.

Any suggestions?
