Windows 10: licensing and transferring win 8 pro retail key account to totally new system

Good day to you.

Planning to get a new system. And like to check if i can transfer my win 8 proretail key account to totally new system on win 10 pro.

My win 8 pro key has been upgraded to win 10 pro which i am using now.Will i be able to transfer it to new system on win 10 as mentioned earlier.

1. You do NOT have a Win 10 Pro license. You have a retail Win 8 (Pro ?) license which you used to upgrade to Win 10 Pro in your stolen laptop.
2. Even with a Retail license, the same rule applies ....... one key, one install.
Your Win 8 Pro retail key is tied up to your stolen laptop. You can NOT use the same key to install in another
computer.

That's how I understand it.
If I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct me.

 

License transfer from OEM/Edu retail to new laptop

My children (students) are in need of a newer laptop. I want to transfer the complete installation (system backup) of their current laptops to their new ones.

I bought one laptop (laptop A) with a 'Win 10 RTM Core OEMM' license (Windows 10 Home).

I want to transfer the system backup of laptop B ('Win 8.1 RTM Core OEMM' license which is upgraded to a 'Win 10 RTM Education Retail') to laptop A.

And I want to transfer the system backup of laptop C ('Win 8 RTM Core OEMM' license which is also upgraded to a 'Win 10 RTM Education Retail') to laptop B.

How can I perform the (re)activation or other license concerns with this transfer of the system backup?

Or if the OEM product keys are tied to the original laptops, how do I change the OEM product key of laptop A after system backup recovery to it's original 'Win 10 RTM Core OEMM' and keep the 'Win 10 RTM Education Retail' upgrade ?

OEM keys are are tied to the originally activated device - Retail keys can be transferred to another ( the EULA requires it to be uninstalled prior - not possible in this case, obviously) but the activation server does not check that.
The OP can thus activate a 2nd PC with the original retail key of the same edition.
