Windows 10: Lifecam studio has weak color, Windows 10

Hi --


I recently purchased a LifeCam Studio 2 Megapixels Universal. My OS is WIndows 10. When I plugged in the camera in the usb port, the display was briefly in color and immediately switched to a desaturated, almost b & w picture. Vibrant object seems to show up in color but weaker color objects appear to be in b & w. I cannot find any software installed and when I tried to update the drivers, the only options were for Windows 7 and Vista. Has anyone been able to get this camera to work with Windows 10?

LifeCam Studio Software is not Working in Windows 10

The Microsoft LifeCam Studio video camera runs best with the default Windows 10 drivers. You can get these by detaching your LifeCam from your PC, deleting the LifeCam drivers from your PC and then shutting your PC down.

Re-attach your LifeCam Studio video camera to your PC and power-on your PC. Windows 10 will install the drivers for your video camera.

You can use the Windows 10 Camera app to operate your LifeCam Studio video camera.

The Windows 10 Camera app allows control of focus and exposure. It does not allow control over color balance which I have not needed in that my LifeCam Studio video camera balances color perfectly automatically.

I use my Microsoft LifeCam Studio video camera with Skype and a few other video apps without problems.

If I understood you right, you are facing issues installing LifeCam studio. I can help you with it.

First, I would suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter and check.

Try these steps to run the troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
  
• Click view all in the left panel.
• Select ‘Hardware and devices' and follow the on-screen instructions.
  

let’s update the Firmware and check if it makes any difference.

If the issue persists, please uninstall the Microsoft LifeCam application from the control panel and install the fresh version.

1. Right click the screen's bottom-left corner, click Control Panel, and then, under
Programs,

2. Click
Uninstall a Program.

3. When you find the program
Microsoft LifeCam, click it and Click Uninstall.

4. Follow the on screen instructions.
