Windows 10: Lifecam Webcam and Windows 10

Hi, having purchased an expensive Microsoft webcam I am astonished to find it simply does not work when I migrated to Windows 10. Looking around online there seems to be no solution.


The camera works in basic way through the 'Camera' app but with no useful controls. No control of zoom, for example. Some controls work in Skype in test mode, but the zoom goes back to default when live. Cannot find an app that will control the camera.


So why did I waste so much money on Microsoft hardware? Is there a plan to restore these controls, please?

Lifecam doesn't turn off in Windows 10

Hi. I noticed today that my webcam light was on, even though I was not using any application that used the webcam. I installed Windows 10 yesterday and am wondering if there are some compatibility issues with the LifeCam webcam. I went to the Microsoft
download sight, and confirmed that the firmware was the latest version. I uninstalled my LifeCam software and attempted to reinstall LifeCam 4.25. Towards the end of the install process, the following message appeared: "setup cannot continue because an unexpected
error occurred". Yet when I checked my list of installed programs, LifeCam was there! And the light on my webcam is still on. Any suggestions? Thanks.
