Windows 10: Limit applications available to child family account on Windows 10 PC

I created a user account for a child with Microsoft Family. The start menu of the child account appears to show all of the applications installed on my computer. I want to limit the applications visible and available to the child account. I'd like to create a very simple interface that provides the child user with only a limited selection of applications. How can I do this?


There are two different things I'd like do:

1 Actually limit access to applications on the child account.

2 Hide or remove applications from the start menu if they can't actually be removed from just the child account.


On the Microsoft Account webpage for family settings I went to the App and Game Limit section and blocked several apps. However, I noticed the list of apps displaced here seems to be limited to only pre-installed apps. Applications I have installed on this computer are not listed.

• Is the issue occurring with other child account or with a specific child's account?

Thank you for your response.

• Are you trying these steps in admin account or a local account?

The steps given in the link ahs to be performed in the Website and a invite has to sent from the web and check if it helps.

I suggest you to refer the link and check the Add a child account to your family and check
if it helps.
