    Can you please tell me how to disable write protection on a Drive using Linux Mint USB Bootable...basically messed my computer up and then used linux mint usb bootable to boot. now i wish to format my drive but cannot because it is write protected.....i can see and access both drives with this bootable usb but unable to otherwise.so in terminal what on earth do i type to remove the write protection on the drive using linux mint usb bootable.

    How to install and run Windows 10 on Linux Mint

    Here's the steps:
    Boot up Linux mint. Open a terminal and type:

    su - root ===> enter password
    lshw ===> list of devices: hd's, cd, usb etc... and look for the dev id of the USB ex: /dev/sdd
    fdisk /dev/sdd =====> assuming your USB is /dev/sdd
    a =====> mark Active
    1 ===> Partition 1 is selected
    w =-==> Update
