  1. LiveKernelEvent Error 117

When playing the game Yakuza 0 I will always crash in a random period 5 minutes to 3 hours into my session - The screen will go white then black, then maybe a minute later the game might crash to desktop. The reliability monitor always shows a "Hardware error" whenever these black screens happen:

The event viewer shows this at the same time:

    Description:

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I've tried 20+ different fixes online and nothing has made any difference. Everything is up to date, nothing is Overclocked. My specs are:

    i7 5820k

    GTX 970

    Corsair 600W PSU

    16GB DDR4 RAM

    X-99 A Motherboard

Also worth noting, running 3DMark GPU stress test at 100% load for several minutes produces no crashes whatsoever, which leads me to believe my GPU is not actually the faulty hardware here. I could be wrong though.

Appreciate any suggestions or help! Thank you

    :)

I get these on my desktop PCs with Nvidia cards from time to time. Usually means a driver problem of some kind. But Nvidia drivers come and go so quickly, it's usually just transitory. Here's one from a recent "blackscreen with cursor" event:

Unless they're frequent, one learns to live with them. If they are frequent, you must usually find a stable graphics driver through trial and error and try to keep it running as long as you can. It's not a pretty story, and it doesn't always have a happy ending.

Several times over the last few days i have had this error. It has occurred while the PC is idle, while on the web or even gaming. The Screen goes black and sound still plays (when gaming) nothing can get me out of that screen so i have to restart. When
it logs back in check reliability history and i always have this error listed. A few times it has occurred several times in one day.

There are no device issues, so im not sure what else to check, any advice?
