Windows 10: Loading Windows 10 Education edition onto a boot flash drive for a new PC, what am I doing...

First time PC builder here. I'm trying to use the media creation tool to make a boot drive. I decided to get Windows 10 Education because it was free, and I already have my key.

The problem is, I'm trying to use the MediaCreationTool from Microsoft and follow the recommended steps, but when I get to the part where I pick the OS version my only option is "Windows 10" while it looks like other people get the option for any OS in their dropdown menu.

Will I be able to continue just picking the "Windows 10" option, and get the education edition option later, or will I be able to use my key on whatever version gets installed, and have it automatically upgrade? I'm lost on what to do here.

Windows 10 Education Edition on new hard drive

I currently have windows 10 education edition installed. I'm trying to do a clean install on a new ssd; however, the media creation tool doesn't work for volume licenses. How do I get the education edition on my new hard drive?

Hey,

I decided to build myself a computer for college, and my University offered me a free copy of windows 10 education edition that I want to install on said computer. The only problem is, I only have a product key, and I obviously don't have a copy of either
windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 on the computer, with it just being built. Is there a way I can get windows onto a flash drive so I can boot it from there? I tried using the Media creation tool, but it kept crashing after I selected the usb, and windows 10 education
wasn't a choice of operating system. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

 

How do I install Windows 10 on a flash drive onto a new hard drive?

I need a very simple, step-by-step instructions. Seriously, SIMPLE! So far I cannot find any adequate explanation or detailed steps on how to do it.

I built a new computer.

I have a flash drive.

I have a windows 10 code.

I do not have the disk, I just have the code.

The hard drive is brand new.

The motherboard is a LGA1150.

All I see on this website is how to upgrade, how to upgrade, how to upgrade, buy a computer with Windows 10, and nothing about entering a product key, installing the OS to a flash drive, and on to a new hard drive.

I do not understand why Microsoft has to make this complicated. There should be a box that says: enter product key. Then it should route you to a page asking you how you would like to install it. Then once you answer (flash drive in this case) instructions
are shown to guide you onto how to install it with the install button on the page. It should say in simple text: This is for new hard drives. Very simple. Seriously Microsoft! do this.
