    Local taskbar visible during remote desktop full screen Win11>Win10


    Unable to stop the local task bar from showing in the remote desktop view on a Win11 connected to Win10 machine. So, the remote taskbar is hidden behind it. The only option presented so far is to permanently hide the local task bar. Not a good option.Working just fine on a Win 10 machine connecting to the same Win 10 machine. The local task bar appropriately doesn't show up.Both local machine are Surface products.

    Local taskbar visible during remote desktop fullscreen

    When I do remote desktop fullscreen connection on Windows 10 local host to Windows 7 remote host, the local task bar will not get covered by the RDP window as it used to be. It remains visible on top and the only help is to set the local taskbar to auto-hide. It overlays and hides the remote taskbar.

    It had started to happen after some update, not sure which one, perhaps the Creators update.

    I use shortcut on desktop, tried various settings but without any success.

    How can I make the local taskbar hidden behind the RDP fullscreen window? (and not visible on top of the remote desktop fullscreen window rendering the remote taskbar unavailable?)

    Actually SilvertonOregon's issue was very accurately described.

    When a remote desktop connection is made from a Windows 10 computer, the resulting RDP screen shows the remote but with the local taskbar.

    For instance, when I connect to one of our Windows 2012 servers, I see the server screen but with my Win10 taskbar.

    The issue is new and probably caused by some Win10 update that 'came in' lately.

    The following screenshot show the IIS manager of the server and the taskbar of my local Win10 workstation.

    Okay guys need some help here before going crazy...
    I am trying to setup a remote desktop connection and see exactly what the logged on user is looking at with out going through Windows Remote Desktop.

    Since its local network I don't have any password or want to setup a password.

    Any suggestions are appreciated
