Windows 10: Lock screen doesn't show any image

I am running on the latest version of the windows build and after a few prior updates my lock screen for windows has stopped loading images. it just shows a blank screen (solid color of the theme i have set for windows) and although it even shows those tips and facts on the lock screen it doesn't show anything else. (for windows spotlight)


Additionally even if i try to change the lock screen to a custom picture from the file explorer it opens up the settings and in that small preview of how your lock screen would look like with the picture it just keeps loading and loading and even after hours it hasn't loaded the picture and of course the picture doesn't load when I see the lock screen. Instead of the picture I wanted, the most recent picture of some song album is shown (Maybe the similar feature that was present on older versions of Android?) I don't know which song application it might be but it might have been Groove Music.


Its not any resolution matter of the photo as it doesn't work with any image, low or high resolution.

Sometimes it shows a few times just after a update but a few unlocks later its back to the solid color of the theme


Even the slideshow feature doesn't work.

different lock screen and sign in screen?

Step 2b is labeled as Change the Login Screen Image, but the steps show you how to change the Lock Screen image. Step 2a is irrelevant. It only tells you how to change the desktop background.

What I want to do:
Set Spotlight as the LOCK Screen Image(s) - Done
Set the Win 10 Hero Image as the SIGN IN Screen Image - This is the one that shows after you click on the lock screen and you are able to type your password. If I uncheck "Show Lock Screen Image on Sign In Screen", it shows a solid blue background behind my Password box and user image. This is what I want to change to the Hero Image....

• Is this issue occurs only when the pictures are set from OneDrive?

I suggest you to set the picture for the lock screen using the default lock screen pictures and check whether the issue persist or not, follow the below steps to set the pictures.

• Go to “settings” and click on “personalization”.
• Under “lock screen” tab, select the option from the drop box as “picture”.
• Then under “choose your picture” option, click on any picture and go to the lock screen, check whether the issue persists or not.
