Windows 10: Lock screen slideshow not working (intermittant!)

I have spent days on the net trying to find a solution to my problem.
When I first setup the slideshow it worked fine.
Then, out of the blue, it stopped working (due to an update I thought)
But since then it comes and goes. It can work for a few hours but soon goes back to sleep mode instead of the lock screen slideshow!
I’ve triple checked the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the slideshow, changed the image folder etc.
I’ve even changed and re-changed the NoLockScreen setting in the registry.
In short, nothing works.
Has anybody any new ideas on the matter?

Do you mean having slideshow on lock screen and slideshow on desktop screensaver both working?

because I am able to have both on. For example i have the slideshow on my screensaver, then when i lock my computer the slideshow for the lock screen work.

 

Setting a slideshow

Are we talking about the desktop or lock screen slideshow? The lock screen slideshow when first run will take a bit to scan the library before it can start displaying the slideshow. It should work great thereafter.

 

I have tried a couple of things since yesterday:I removed the NoLockScreen key from the registry.

I also disactivated the automatic time/date setting for the clock (as advised on another thread - no I don't understand the link either).

After reboot the lockscreen slideshow worked once but has since resorted to sleep mode, as before!!??

What is interesting to note is that if I force the lockscreen (windows+L) it works fine but asks for a password on exit, even though it is set not to (and otherwise does'nt ask, on boot for instance)

I can't possibly be the only person with Lockscreen problems.

In fact I know I'm not considering the other threads on the subject.

The good news is I have a solution....

For a start there is nothing in the configuration, power settings, screen saver delays etc that relate directly to the lockscreen!!!

There is NOTHING other than the Lockscreen settings options limited to choosing an image(s), where the image is and if it shuts the screen down after the slideshow.

I'm sure now my problem is not the slideshow but the Lockscreen itself.

I implore someone from Microsoft to give me an opion and, in future updates, introduce a more comprehensive lockscreen settings menu!

Inconsistency sucks.

I counted, in the various display options of the setup menus there 3 places where it asks if and when to turn off the display, 1 for sleep mode and jack for lockscreen!

Just to rub salt into my wounds, the lockscreen is working today (complete with slideshow!)

Now THAT inconsistant!
