Windows 10: Lock Screen Slideshow stopped working

I have Slideshow selected for my Lock Screen background Win > Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen, with "Pictures" folder selected under "Choose albums for your slideshow".


Since last weekend, above "Choose albums..." it now says "You need more than one picture to show in your slideshow." That message goes away when I add another local folder with numerous JPG photos, but reappears after closing "Settings" and reopening. I've tried removing all folders, adding a variety of others, from 1 at a time to 6, with the same result.


I have active, up-to-date McAfee running 24x7. I tried as one KB suggested performing Windows Update ver 1909, OS build 18363.752; no effect to the lock screen.


It has been working for the past 10 months without interruption, till last week.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps. Refer to the below steps:

• 
  Type Lock screen in the search bar and press enter
  
• 
  Select Advanced Slideshow settings
  
• 
  Click on Turn off screen after slideshow has played for and select the time limit

Lock Screen Slideshow

So i just tried the lock screen slideshow when the date changed to march 1st and now it works again, WTF?

 

Lock screen slideshow not working (intermittant!)


I have spent days on the net trying to find a solution to my problem.
When I first setup the slideshow it worked fine.
Then, out of the blue, it stopped working (due to an update I thought)
But since then it comes and goes. It can work for a few hours but soon goes back to sleep mode instead of the lock screen slideshow!
I’ve triple checked the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the slideshow, changed the image folder etc.
I’ve even changed and re-changed the NoLockScreen setting in the registry.
In short, nothing works.
Has anybody any new ideas on the matter?
