Windows 10: Lock Screen Stuck On Same Image

I see this coming up a lot with very creative solutions. I would add one to the mix.


When i would open lock screen options, the latest image would be up in picture mode. Changing picture to Windows Spotlight would stay in picture mode. Changing it twice it would look like it's in windows spotlight mode but closing the settings and opening them back you would see it went back to picture again.


Those are the symptoms. The fix i seem to have found is to enable background apps. Right now the Windows spotlight setting sticks and i can only guess it will download the next picture at a given interval from now.

Lock Screen Image Too Big

• Is this issue occurs only when the pictures are set from OneDrive?

I suggest you to set the picture for the lock screen using the default lock screen pictures and check whether the issue persist or not, follow the below steps to set the pictures.

• Go to “settings” and click on “personalization”.
• Under “lock screen” tab, select the option from the drop box as “picture”.
• Then under “choose your picture” option, click on any picture and go to the lock screen, check whether the issue persists or not.

Lock Screen Image Issue

I would suggest you to set the default pictures as the Lock Screen picture from the PC and check if it works or not.

Follow the steps below:

• In start type "settings" and press enter.
• Select Personalize
• From the left click on "Lock screen"
• Select the default picture and conform by preview.

You can use your own image of any background and just go to settings/personalize/lock screen and click on browse as in the image below. It should make whatever picture you use as the Lock Screen
