Windows 10: locked on blue screen with windows logo

At first start up, shows blue screen windows logo, acts like its processing to open up but then does nothing, stays that screen until you do a hard shutdown. Once off you have to hit the power button again, which will show the blue screen and its windows logo/icon in the middle of screen while its processing but this time it will continue and open up so you can now use your computer. This is the process of my computers start up every time it has been shut off or even put to sleep. I have been successful at troubleshooting most of my computer issues but this one I cannot. Its been like this for a good year so I've just been living with it. I don't get on my PC everyday but I am concerned I may be causing it damage since after initial start up, I have to hold the power button down for several seconds to get it to shutdown, then push it again to start up, to resume its normal functioning.

It has had all of its normal updates so what should I try next?

Installation Hangs at Blue Windows Logo, Error Code C1900101-20017

The BIOS update suggestion posted above by @Jegler helped me, @guhanath. I was on version 1.10 and updated to 1.90. The steps I took after that were just doing the official Windows 10 upgrade procedure.

Then the Windows 10 installation went without a hitch, and I'm no longer on Windows 7. I'm going to consider this solved, thank you @Jelger for the suggestion to update the BIOS!

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??
