Windows 10: Locked out of laptop. Please help. Thank you.

I have a message on my laptop screen that reads "This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option, or keep your device plugged in for at least two hours and try again."I'm the only one that has access to my laptop that I rarely use. I've never had failed sign-in attempts not have there been repeated shut downs.When I gave up and shut it down today it said someone else was logged in and that they may lose what they were working on? Could I be the victim of a hack? I can't use any other log in option as I can't get past the
