Windows 10: Log in problem

Hello, this will be quite a long post so embrace yourseves.

A friend of mine (which isn't very tech savy) has bought herself a new laptop that came preinstalled with windows 10. When she configured it, she entered a friend@yahoo .com email address, instead of friend@gmail .com address, which is her main address. She didn't notice this at the time and for two more days. She configured it with a 4 digit PIN, and used that to unlock the laptop.

Yesterday however, after booting up, instead of asking for the PIN, it said to log in with the password to set up windows hello. Except that every time she inputs the password, it keeps rejecting it as a wrong password.

Here comes the tricky part. I told her to reset the password. The problem however is that there is no microsoft account for friend@yahoo .com, only for the gmail address. So make an account for the yahoo address, right? well, she cant log in to the yahoo address, she couldn't do that for years now.

I have tried talking her over the phone with a lot of solutions, booting in safe mode, trying to create the hidden admin account, resetting the windows from advanced boot options, but it always go back to asking for the account password. And yes, it was her fault for mistyping the email.

My question is, can she somehow go back and log in with the pin, or the only way is to reinstall windows (which is quite hard to do rn, as she lives ~150 miles away and you know, corona restrictions)

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

 

MW2 Problem

I think the game is booting, then Steam is trying to boot, but is hanging during the login process, hell it may be sitting there wait for you to enter your password.

Try this, turn Steam On and log in. Click on the game listed in the "My Games" tab to start MW2 and see if the problem continues. If that does not work, you have 2 other suggestions above.

 

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
