    Logging of files changed

Does anyone know where the changes are tracked locally of the files that were modified during an update ? Any log files or way to figure out what the one cumulative update actually did? The new method of lumping the patches makes it more difficult to troubleshoot when something goes wrong so it would be nice to have at least a log to look at.
    Thx

    :)

  2. One drive has changed attributes of a lot of files, cannot be changed

After upgrading to Windows 10 I had no issues for several days. However, after attempting to use One Drive every file on my pc expect for desktop has become read only. I have attempted several methods to change this such as:

    • Changing all files in documents to not be read only using right click, properties, unchecked read only (This doesn't change it, the read only property it stays the same)
    • Allow the entire documents file to be shared on private networks (This worked but, I don't want to do this as I move my laptop around frequently)
I'm hoping there is a better solution then having to share my documents or other folders as those can't be edited or accessed. Some other notes are that I am the system administrator and only user on the pc. Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi Jarod,

    Thank you for the post.

Sorry to know that you are experiencing issues opening files on OneDrive on Windows 10.

If the issues are only with the Office files, then, kindly try the suggestions provided by 'Arvind Ram' on August 3, 2015 which has helped fix similar issue.

Office documents in read only mode while opening from OneDrive and locally.

If that does not help, try taking ownership of the folder or drive and check if that helps:

How to take ownership of a file or folder or Drive in Windows

    a) Go to the drive that contains the file or Folder whose ownership you want to change.

    b) Right Click of mouse on that file or Folder and Choose “Properties“.

    c) Navigate to “Security” tab.

    d) Click on “Advanced” on the Security tab to open the Advance security setting for the file.

    e) On the Owner; Click on “Change“.

    f) Click on “Advanced” on the open “Select User or Group” Window.

    g) Click on “Find Now” on the open Window.

    h) It will show you all the available user on the Search results.

    i) Now select the user that you want to give the ownership and click on “OK“.

    j) Again Click on “OK” on the “Select User or Group” to change the ownership.

    k) Now the Ownership for that file or folder is changed.

    l) Now apply all the changes and Click on OK and close all the open Window.

Let us know if it helps. If you have further queries, we will be happy to help.
