Windows 10: Login screen and pin-box donot appear

Hello,

I have a custom built desktop PC running on windows 10.

I was using it and I got a notification saying I needed to restart so that my drive can get repaired.

I continued my work on the pc and forgot about the message, shutting it down normally after using it.

When I turned my pc on the next time, before booting, I got a message that said "press any key to skip drive check" or smth similiar. I didn't skip it and "repairing drive x% completed" was displayed.

Then the pc booted up usually and I was taken to the lock screen. I pressed the space bar and the time and date vanished as usual but the login screen didn't appear.

Screen flashed blue, the loading sign at the top right corner of the cursor appeared and then I was taken back to the lock screen where the time and date is shown.

This goes on in a loop no matter how many times I press a keyboard/mouse button.

I've tried restarting and shut-down-and-boot-again using the buttons on my cpu cabinet but the issue remains.

Only things visible at the lock screen are date-and-time and the connected-to-internet Icon.

Sometimes on clicking at the lock screen, a blue screen with the power button, ease of access button and network icon at the bottom right corner appears for a second but I can't click any of those either so no rebooting using safe mode.

An update was also installed on the day I got the "need to restart for repairing drive" notification while using my pc.

I also had used CCcleaner to clear up some space on the same day after the updates were installed.

There were many threads on the support site with similiar issues but none of them were solved satisfactorily.

Please help fix this.

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

Unable to login using The login PIN

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the pin and check fi it helps.

• In the login page next to “PIN password option”.
• You will find “Other sign in options”, click on it will prompt you for regular password.
• Enter regular password and login to the computer.
• I suggest you to click on the Start Menu
  and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Under the “PIN tab” click on “ADD” option.
• It will prompt you for current pin password and new password, please provide
  new password then apply the changes, restart
  the computer and check if it works.

Win 10 PIN Login problem. PIN cant unlock my PC if there is no internet

Are you able to login to computer using Pin when you connect computer to Internet?

I suggest you to change the PIN on your computer and check if that helps.

Follow these steps to setup a PIN

• Press the Windows+S key combination to display the Search box.
• Type the word pin into the Search box, then click
  Set up PIN sign-in.
• Find the “PIN” section and click the Add button.
• Type in the password for your User Account, then click the
  Ok button.
• Select and enter a 4 digit numeric pin, then enter it again for confirmation.
• Exit the PIN setup utility.
• From now on you’ll be able to log in to your Windows account by entering your 4 digit PIN instead of your password.

If you want to change the PIN please follow these steps.

• You can change your PIN at any time by following the steps below:
• Press the Windows+S key combination to display the Search box.
• Type the word pin into the Search box, then click Set up PIN sign-in.
• Find the “PIN” section and click the Change button.
• Enter your Windows password, then click the Ok button.
• Select and enter a new 4 digit numeric pin, then enter it again for confirmation.
• Click the Finish button.
• Exit the PIN setup utility.
