Windows 10: Logitech K400 PLUS: anyone here get it to WORK?

Forgot to mention, you can install the Unifying software by itself, without installing Setpoint. Unifying Software - Logitech Support The only thing that doesn't work for me without setpoint are the special blue keys on my keyboard, which I don't ever use anyway.

 

We have discussed this in the past i recall probably more then once *Wink. I would see your screen captures if i installed setpoint which installs the unifying software also, i never installed just the unifying myself.

I have the same Trackball and would loose low battery prompts, some settings to change the buttons, gaming settings and can not recall all. K800 keyboard about the same i would loose, battery prompts, key functions changes and illumination changes.

Also for both checking updates too, although the Logitech Download Assistant seems to install without installing the software drivers from Windows 10 updates, but i just disable it in the Task Manager. Before my last clean install i was using the Setpoint software and was working good, no bugs.

 

The unifying will tell you your battery condition, if you launch it. I don't think it will prompt you when they get low though. I think the Trackball will warn you via the indicator on it, when the battery gets low? I don't change any settings for gaming so I don't miss anything that Setpoint provides. I install the unifying so I can link and unlink devices to just the one unifying receiver. My keyboard came with a mouse I never used. I just unlinked the keyboard from that receiver and gave the mouse and receiver to my father. Then I linked the keyboard to the receiver for my trackball. Now they are a set. It's what ever works for you. With your keyboard I can see why you'd install Setpoint. I have a USB cyber sniper keyboard I use for FPS games. It only has the common keys used for FPS games on it and a nice palm rest. It's about the size of a mouse pad. That download assistant seems to install on its own. I also just disable it.

 

Thanks Buddy ! Trackball has a green light that comes on when good at first use, it may turn red when low i never recalled seeing it so far.
I recall your reasons for using unifying software. My Logitech K800 functions fine with or without the software it's illuminated so when your hand comes close it lights up and or when you take your hand away it goes out within seconds. Now this can be only altered in the software for the amount of time it lights, for after your hand moves and brightness of the illumination. Without software it sets just defaults settings for this.

Told you about the trackball and you are aware of it having the same. I do not game with either devices i use for PC games an XBox 360 Wireless Controller or my Razer Orbweaver. I rather not wear out my keyboard and Trackball and these gaming devices are much more comfortable and enhance your game play.

 

I have an XBOX One and I am getting used to using the controller. I still prefer my trackball keyboard for FPS games on my PC though. I have worn out the left click (fire) button on my trackball. I just bought a basic Logitech USB mouse and removed the micro switch from it to replace the worn out switch in my trackball. I'm an electronic technician by trade so its an easy fix for me. The mouse was a lot cheaper than buying another trackball and I have two more spare micro switches if I need them.

Get yourself a Keypad like me Razer Orbweaver or other you will be more pleased on comfort and durability of one and will save you repairs on mice or trackballs *Biggrin Aiming with the XBox is a bit unsteady for some First person shooter games this is when Orbweaver prevails, Game on !
